GLTPA Raises $32,475 in Support of Log A Load for Kids

Members of the Great Lakes Timber Professionals Association (GLTPA), working in coalition with forest products businesses and forestry equipment dealers, raised $32,475 for local Children's Miracle Network (CMN) hospitals during the 2011 Log A Load For Kids campaign.

Log A Load For Kids is an annual campaign which encourages loggers and others to donate the value of a load of logs, or any amount, to local non-profit Children's Miracle Network hospitals.

Members of GLTPA utilized many fundraising strategies for the 2011 campaign, including firewood and equipment auctions at Logging Congress. Most notable, the Northwest Chapter of GLTPA continues their generosity by hosting an annual charitable harvest. A Charitable harvest is an educational program which introduces children to forestry science, history and modern-day harvesting practices. Experts in their fields – loggers, foresters, biologists, and teachers – are stationed throughout an area that has been designated for harvesting.

“GLTPA is fortunate to have dedicated members who are willing to take the time from their own businesses to work for the benefit of our kids,” said Aaron Nieman, Event Coordinator for the Great Lakes Timber Professionals Association.

Along with a note indicating which Children’s Miracle Network hospital you would like your donation be applied to. If you would like a receipt for your taxes, please indicate and one will be sent you.

100% of all tax-deductable donations go to the participating CMN hospital of your choice.
