Meet Dana

Dana joined the Great Lakes Timber Professionals Association team in December 2011.

Born and raised where the “I divides” in Tomah, WI, she pursued her passion for broadcast journalism at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, beginning in the fall of 2001.

It was at college that she received valuable hands-on training by participating in the student-produced TV station on campus. As a one-man-band reporter, Dana shot, wrote and edited her own news stories for Titan TV News every week, while also gaining experience producing and anchoring the newscasts.

In May 2007, Dana graduated from UWO with a Bachelor of Arts degree, and majors in Radio/TV/Film and Spanish, as well as minors in Journalism and Political Science. She spent her last year of college studying abroad in Spain to develop her Spanish-speaking skills and immerse herself in another culture. This learning experience came in handy after graduation with her first job taking her to the Lone Star State.

In a town called Edna, 6,000 strong, Dana taught English and Spanish to Mexicans and Americans, while also tutoring Mexican students on the side.

After a year and a half in Texas, Dana moved back to the Frozen Tundra and began working as a reporter for Rhinelander’s WJFW Newswatch 12 in October 2009.  In November 2010, she began anchoring the station’s weekend newscast.

Now at GLTPA, Dana handles sales for Logging Congress and TPA Magazine, and is excited about getting the Association’s message of sustainable forestry out through marketing techniques.

In her free time, Dana enjoys cooking, traveling and spending time with her family and friends...which also includes hunting and fishing with her husband, Eric.

She is thrilled to be staying in the Northwoods, and looks forward to adding the forestry industry to her list of adventures!
