Meet Aaron

Aaron Nieman joined GLTPA in August 2008 as the Event Coordinator and later took over the duties of managing the content for the monthly Great Lakes TPA Magazine.

Aaron was born and raised in Hartland, WI, and is a graduate of Arrowhead High School.  He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Ski Area Business Management from Northern Michigan University in Marquette, MI, along with an Associate Degree in Ski Area Management from Gogebic College in Ironwood, MI.  Aaron’s studies led him to an internship opportunity for Sitour USA, where he worked as an Event Coordinator planning and setting up ski area promotional events.

He was later hired by the Aspen Skiing Company as the Event Marketing Venue Manager in Aspen, CO.  He also worked for the Town of Snowmass Village and was involved in such large scale events as ESPN’s Winter X Games.

Aaron enjoys spending time with his wife, Melissa Nieman, of Ironwood, MI, and son Henry Aaron Nieman.  He is an avid outdoorsman and loves hunting, fishing, camping, hiking and the occasional rugby match.  Aaron spends most of his time in the winter skiing, ice fishing and cheering for the Packers.

He is excited for the opportunity to work for the Great Lakes Timber Professionals and to become a knowledgeable member of the forest products industry.  He plans to further develop the growth of the annual Lake States Logging Congress, Great Lakes TPA Magazine and Log A Load For Kids.
