able to attend the 66th Annual Lake States Logging Congress & Equipment Expo in Escanaba, MI!

Thank you for joining us at the 66th Lake States Logging Congress in Escanaba, Michigan. The joint efforts of all who worked together make this event the yearly success that it is. The 2011 Logging Congress featured 169 Outdoor Exhibition Booths, and filled the Ruth Butler Building with 142 Indoor Exhibition Booths. Registered gate attendance came in at 8,800 for the three day event, a number slightly below average compared to the previous two Logging Congress Expos.

The new “Ponsse Used Equipment Corral” was a huge success, covering over 13,000 square feet of used machines and should again be featured at Logging Congress in 2012.

Over 480 tickets were sold for the Presidents Kickoff event, which appeared not to skip a beat with a location change at the Island Resort and Casino. Proposed ideas for the event in 2012 include the EAA Museum or hosting the event in the Indoor facility and extending exhibition hours Thursday night.

—An Annual Event For Over 65 Years

Over 200 indoor and outdoor exhibitors attend each year to showcase the best of the best when it comes to Log Splitters, Portable Sawmills, Compact Tractors & Logging Equipment, Implements, Chainsaw Carving, Wood/Pellet Stove Dealers and much, much more. The first Logging Congress occurred on November 1 & 2, 1945 in Houghton, Michigan, and in 1948 the Congress began the practice of adding different locations to encourage greater exposure and participation. Now it its 66th year, the Logging Congress events have been known to attract over 300 booth set-ups, 3,500 attendees daily, and cover 875,000 square feet.

Why Exhibit or Attend?

  • To display and promote all products used in the timber harvesting and construction industry.
  • To portray through demonstrations and exhibits the rapid change in technology created for wood products and the construction industry.
  • To demonstrate to visitors from around the world the importance of the forestry community in a global economy.
  • To enable the producer, trucker and sawmill the opportunity to analyze and compare, all at one location, the various products which are essential to the industry and their business.
