Log A Load For Kids is a nationwide campaign through which loggers and other forest industry professionals donate the value of a load of logs, or any amount they can, to help make hospital stays easier for children.
Through GLTPA, Log-A-Load charitable harvests is, first and foremost, an educational program that introduces children to forestry science, history and modern-day harvesting practices. The premise is simple: Experts in their fields – loggers, foresters, biologists, and teachers – are stationed throughout an area that has been designated for harvesting.
Busloads of elementary school children arrive at the site, visit each station to learn another facet in the fascinating story of a tree-based ecosystem and hopefully take away some idea of the vast responsibility of being future stewards of the Earth and its resources.
On that level alone the GLTPA’s Log-A-Load program seems to be an overwhelming success

The Children’s Miracle Network is a nonprofit organization committed to helping sick and injured children of all ages regardless of their affliction or ability to pay. Log- A-Load for Kids® is the only program in which you can choose the hospital your donation supports.
Children’s Miracle Network® is an alliance of 170 children’s hospitals in the United States and Canada. The Salt Lake City, Utah-based Children’s Miracle Network® was founded in 1983 by the singing Osmond family and John (Bo Duke) Schneider. Believing in the proposition that children of all ailments, races, creeds and financial backgrounds deserve the finest medical care when they need it, the Children’s Miracle Network relies on the kindness of strangers to help provide 17 million children annually with that care.
Each year, the Children's Miracle Network brings people together to celebrate the life-saving work of children's hospitals and brings hope to millions of kids across North America. Each year, fundraising efforts end with a nationally broadcast television special, in which sports figures and other celebrities participate.

Donations through Log A Load For Kids help meet the financial needs that local hospitals are facing. Some campaigns dedicate funding to special projects, such as the purchase of medical equipment or funding programs, games and events for patients.
Loggers, truckers, insurance agencies, equipment dealers and manufactures, employees of sawmills, pulp and paper mills, and other individuals believing in this cause may help by sponsoring fundraisers, making direct donations, and assisting in promotion and planning of a charitable harvest.
Donations are appreciated and welcomed. To make a donation, please make check payable to: Log A Load For Kids, and send it to GLTPA, PO Box 1278, Rhinelander, WI 54501-1278.
